Cultural fit is defined as that a
potential job candidate will be able to adapt and follow to the core values and
collective behaviours that forms an organization.
Cultural fit is assessed during the interview phase
by evaluating the soft skills and personal goals. To do so Companies should
cultivate the Company Culture by identifying the following.

What are the behaviours
·
Attitudes
·
Mindset
·
Practices
Cultural fit is imperative to an organization
to move forward. Poor cultural fit could turn Companies into turmoil handling
the employees especially considering turnover. On the other hand when an employee is hired with right cultural fit it enhances the Organization
as well individuals’ targets. Thus, it is very important to hire the candidates
who would be able to align with Company culture.

According to
Some questions that will help to assess
culture fit in an interview:
• What type of organization culture do you have
worked in? (Does the response reflect your organizational culture?)
• What values are you drawn to and what’s
your ideal workplace?
• What is the reason to apply this job and
why do you want to work here?
• What do you know about our Company Culture?
Is this something that works for you?
• What would be the best practices can be
implemented though your experience? Do you feel that our Company Culture
provide you the opportunity to bring these best practice?
• Give an instance where you felt you are unable
to cope with an Organization Culture and what is the reason.
If Recruitment team can assess the Cultural Fit of the candidate during the recruitment process the candidate hired would flourish and take the Company to achieve the goals set and achieve bottom line, most importantly save the time and money. Thus, Human Resources Department must play a major role in identifying the Company Culture and it is imperative to assess accordingly, any failure would result with major negative impact.

The significance of "cultural fit" as a job criteria has been contested. Some argue that hiring for culture fit is a kind of discrimination against persons with various personalities. Others argue that culture fit is the most crucial thing to consider; after all, skills can be taught, but aptitude and attitude cannot. ReplyDeleteCultural fit is a factor to consider, as noted above, but many people overlook it. Rather than hiring and firing, it is usually preferable to hire someone who is familiar with or willing to learn about the company's culture. Continue to write excellent articles.
